Prices rose on average by 30 Eurocents in the latest Portuguese auction

On 23rd February 2022, on the OMIP platform, the 7th auction for Guarantees of Origin was held related to the production of electricity from renewable sources in Portugal from power plants that benefit from a direct price support regime.

The auction model was the descending clock, with 2.92 TWh of Guarantees of Origin (GOs) being auctioned, divided into nine lots, according to the criteria of Technology (Solar, Wind, Hydro, and Thermal) for 2021 production (March, April, May, June, July, and October) vintages.

The majority of the GOs (1.64 TWh) was from Wind, followed by 0.43 TWh of GOs from Hydro. Compared to the previous auction...
