German media groups ARD and ZDF to GO green

German public-service broadcasting groups ARD and ZDF are set to purchase TÜV-Süd accredited Guarantees of Origin (GOs) from Scandinavia to cover their entire electricity consumption in 2022. The GOs would be purchased by the state of Hesse's public broadcaster Hessischer Rundfunk for the entire ARD and ZDF.

The ARD group and ZDF are the two public broadcasters in Germany. ARD group comprises of 54 regional and local radio stations and networks, two nationwide radio channels, and seven regional TV networks and also includes national and international TV broadcasters  Das Erste, Deutsche Welle. Created by all states in Germany, ZDF operates as an independent nonprofit institution.
