Today (3 December 2021) the European carbon futures price hit an all-time high rising above 80 Euro/tonne for the first time since its inception by the European Union in 2005.
The December 21 EUA daily futures contract hit a price level of 80.29 Euro/tonne at 09:09 am (GMT) today on the ICE Index. The EUA price then fell to just over 78 Euros midday on the intraday market and since the publication of this article, it was last trading at 79.69 Euros/tonne at 13:58 PM (GMT).
