China to issue their electricity certificates in July 2017

China announced that they will launch tradable electricity certificate system provisionally on 1 July 2017. The planning started as early as March 2016.

An “Information Managing Centre” will serve as central registry, issuing and regulating body. That centre will also be responsible for building and operating an exchange for the certificates.

Per Chinese National Development and Reform Commission[1], the system features:
