Governments commit to increase share of electric vehicles

“After the Paris Agreement the world’s attention is now focused on the policies and measures that will follow this success and I am glad to see France and other nations sending a strong signal to all citizens and to the industry through this Government Fleet Declaration” said Ségolène Royal, French Minister of the Environment and Energy at the signing of the pledge in Marrakech 16 November.

The signatory governments – Canada, China, France, Japan, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States of America – are taking a leadership role in this movement and sending a strong signal for the need to speed up the transition to a low-carbon transport.
