Dutch Renewable GO Overview for 2020

Main points for 2020:

  • Dutch Wind GO prices decreased by 71% from 3.60 Euros/MWh in January 2020 to 1.03 Euros/MWh in December 2020
  • Full disclosure could have contributed to total supply increases of 52% in 2020 compared to 2019.
  • Throughout the year demand surpassed supply with total cancellations at 53 TWh.
  • Net imports in 2020 decreased by 16% compared to 2019 figures could be attributed to increases in domestic supply of renewable GOs.

The prices of Dutch 2020 production Wind GO trades conducted by our data partners dropped significantly. The volume-weighted average price of Dutch Wind 2020 production fell by about 71% from 3.60 Euros/MWh at the beginning of the year to 1.03 Euros/MWh in December 2020 continuing a bearish trend observed since mid-2019.
