Powernext held the eleventh auction of Guarantees of Origin (GO), with the book opening on 13 August and order matching on 19 August, for May 2020 production GOs.
A total of 1 953 GWh of supported RES-E GOs were auctioned, which is slightly above the amount of GOs for the production period 12 months prior (May 2019 - 1 789 GWh) and is an increase from last month's volume, with the gains in Wind, Hydro and Solar GOs.
Of the GOs on offer, 311 GWh were sold, the lowest amount to date. Notably, a significant portion (66%) of Solar GOs remained unsold; a product which typically sees 100% uptake. Furthermore, no Thermal GO volumes on offer were purchased.
The Wind, Hydro, and Solar GO auction prices increased compared to last month by approximately 5 Eurocent/MWh. Thermal GO prices fell slightly to 19 Eurocents/MWh.
