On 18 July 2022, Croatian Energy Market Operator (HROTE) and Croatian Power Exchange (CROPEX) announce three Guarantees of Origin auctions for 25 July 2022 for electricity produced from April to June 2022. Guarantees of Origin from subsidized wind and biomass power plants will be sold at the auctions.
A total of 334 179 MWh of Guarantees of Origin for the electricity produced by incentivized producers will be sold on CROPEX’s IT trading platform on 25th July 2022 as three separate auctions:

According to the agreement between HROTE and CROPEX, Guarantees of Origin are sold on Guarantees of Origin Auctions that are organised by CROPEX through its auction trading platform. After the Auction is completed, raised funds from the Auction are transferred to the incentivised system fund, while sold Guarantees of Origin are transferred from HROTE’s account in the Guarantees of Origin Registry to the Auction participant’s user accounts.
Compared to the previous auction, the upcoming volumes on offer have increased by around 14% mainly due to an increase in offered volumes from Wind plants commissioned pre-2015 with auctioned volumes increasing by over 220% from 15.68 GWh offered in April 2022 to 50.81 GWh. Additionally auctioned volumes from Biomass plants commissioned post-2015 increased by 43% from 61.14 GWh in April 2022 to 87.30 GWh in this upcoming auction.
